U13 v Drybrook (Away) 25 Sep 2011

53-0 Win

Monmouth Under 13’s travelled to Drybrook last weekend, and carried on their winning form this season with a very convincing victory on a wet Sunday morning in the Forest.

Monmouth got off to an excellent start in the first half with two early tries scored by back row forward Rhys Carlton, with his second try duly converted by full back Harry Powell.

Powell then added a third try as Monmouth continued their domination of the game. Rhys Carlton scored his third try following an excellent forward break through from Hamish O’Hare, and just before half time winger Rhys Kedward touched down.

Drybrook came out in the second half determined to get back into the game, but despite a spirited performance by the home team, Monmouth were just too strong. Tries scored by centre Morgan Phillips (2), and winger Zelig Ho pushed the game far beyond Drybrook. Monmouth winger Konrad Hohendorf scored his debut try for the club just before the final whistle, and the final score was Monmouth 53, Drybrook 0.

Assistant coach Lloyd Carlton credited all of the Monmouth boys for a spirited performance and the way that they played as a team and supported each-other throughout the match. Man of the match awards went to Jack Davies (Forwards) and Konrad Hohendorf (Backs).
