U12 v Berry Hill (Home) 13 Nov 2011

21-5 Win

Monmouth Tigers travelled local to Berry Hill, after a minutes silence to mark Armistice day the game got underway in near perfect conditions.

The contrast in styles between the two sides made for an exciting game of Midi rugby. The Tigers eventually found their stride, fielding a strong side on the day, albeit with a few new formations.

Eventually, the strong tackling and continued pressure at the breakdown offered
Monmouth the opportunity to build a platform in the backs and they ran in 3scores,
courtesy of Bret Thomas, Josh Hughes and Joe Impey, all converted by
Jamie Bell-Thomas.

Berry Hill fought their way back into the game, through their superior scrum,
and tireless work in the tight play, eventually crossing for a well earned try in the final minute.

The game was played in good spirit, with some exciting rugby from both sides. As always Monmouth received a very warm welcome both on and off the park from their local rivals.

Tries: Impey, Hughes, Thomas
Conv: Bell Thomas: 3
