U9 v Berry Hill (Away) 23 Sep 2012

20-25 Loss

3 games were played as both sides took the pitch for their first competitive game of Contact Rugby.

It was apparent that both teams were finished with Tag Rugby and more than ready to engage in Contact.

Game One saw Berry Hill Run out winners by 2 tries to 1

Game Two also ten minutes each way saw honours shared with 2 tries from each side.

Game Three which was contested for less than ten minutes due to atrocious weather also saw the honours shared once more with a try a piece.
The Chiefs took to the pitch with the right attitude and had to adapt quickly to English rules and faced a line out for the first time!

Despite a visible difference in size, the Chiefs outthought their counterparts and used great tactics to produce a very credible performance which they can all be proud of. However the passion of Berry Hill meant they took the spoils this time by just one try in what was, as always a close encounter.

The 2 teams and their supporters returned to the clubhouse to dry out and refuel and the general opinion was that unlike the weather the future of Young Rugby has a bright outlook!

Tries: Theo Mayell (4)
