U9 v Ledbury (Away) 06 Apr 2014

40-5 Win

With Caerleon unable to honour this weekend’s fixture the Sharks had to cross over the border to England to play a hastily arranged match against Ledbury – thanks to Brian Nixon for arranging this through his Welsh Taffia contacts! Also huge thanks to Ledbury for splitting their squad between us and Berryhill on the day.

With the Sharks undefeated this season outside of tournaments it was no surprise that we travelled with a large squad which enabled the volunteer coaches to try out some new tactics on the day.

For a change we played two games fielding two completely different sides but once again the outcome remained the same with the Sharks undefeated in both games. Despite Mattie having a try disallowed right on the whistle we still won the first encounter two tries to nil then it was “all change” for the second match with the Sharks running in 6 tries whilst Ledbury scored once to avoid a whitewash on the day. A fantastic result for the Sharks against a very determined opposition.

Once again parents commented on what great rugby they had just witnessed and it seems that the Sharks are setting new records throughout this season for games won, amount of tries scored , least tries conceded etc so roll on next week when they compete at the Caldicot Tournament !

Tries: William Freeman (4), Mattie Cotton (3), George Rowlands
