Dear Parents, Monmouth Rugby club is one of the oldest rugby clubs in Wales, playing a high standard of local Welsh and English rugby teams. We have operated a mini and junior section since the early1990’s and currently have teams playing at all levels from Under 8 to Under 17, with the emphasis on having fun, learning the skills of the game and developing an individual’s personal strengths. Each age group, from Under 8 onwards have individual qualified coaches who will all have passed a coaching certificate with the Welsh Rugby Union therefore coaching sessions are structured and planned in advance so as to be positive and enjoyable experiences for all young people. This season we shall be training and playing each weekend at Chippenham Fields, Monmouth (behind Waitrose supermarket) and play a variety of local clubs such as Abertillery, Abergavenny, Hereford, Cwmbran and Luctonians. Having had a successful season, at all levels, we are looking to recruit new players, both boys and girls, from beginners upwards who would like to enjoy some of the benefits that rugby can bring. We have annual rugby tours and we also organise different events, such as taking players and parents to watch Wales play at the Millenium Stadium, evening dinners and summer BBQ’s to name but a few.
