Qualified Level 2 Coaches
Monmouth Rugby Club has invested heavily during the the Summer of the 2012 off-season, by sponsoring 10 of their young rugby coaches through their Level 2 Coaching Qualification Course, run by the Welsh Rugby Union. The coaches have each spent between 60 to 70 hours in attaining their new qualifications, which included two full weekends of classroom study and observed coaching delivery sessions.
Chairman of Monmouth Young Rugby, Jeremy Hughes, himself one of the newly qualified coaches said:
“All age-groups at Monmouth Young Rugby, from U7s through to U16s, have fully qualified coaches, with 8 out of 10 squads now having Level 2 coaching available. This means that our nearly 200 registered young rugby players will benefit from a higher level of quality coaching provision. We are all very excited and looking forward to the new season, especially in helping our players and teams to further develop their skills, as well as our own. Moving forward, the club will continue to sponsor new and existing coaches, to ensure our young players always receive the best quality rugby coaching available in the area. Furthermore, our links with the Newport Gwent Dragons and the WRU will help us to continue our ethos of Continuous Professional / Personal Development amongst our coaching team, both now and in the future.”
