Under 9's Lidl Sponsorship

Just a few weeks after opening their new store in Redbrook Road, the supermarket chain Lidl have agreed to sponsor the Monmouth Young Rugby Under 9's. The sponsorship deal was clinched thanks to the efforts of Tony Watkins the under 9's assistant coach.

The sponsorship package includes the provision of a set of match playing shirts, training suits and a set of post protectors embossed with the Lidl logo.

The squad gathered at the Lidl store on sunday 16th December for a group team photo wearing the new kit. This event was covered by the local press, and attended by Lidl regional manager Matt Heslop and the companies development executive Paul Hebblethwaite. Lidl also provided refreshments for the teams training session from the new store.

The under 9's now have a squad of 20 players, and are looking forward to sporting their kit in the new year at the next home game against Tredegar on 13th January 2008.
