Monmouth Crusaders (under 13’s) were on tour last weekend competing in the Bournemouth South Coast Rugby Festival. It was an excellent event attended by top quality teams from across the UK, and the Crusaders represented themselves and the town well both on and off the field.

Monmouth Crusaders (under 13’s) travelled to New Panteg last weekend and put on an excellent display of Rugby.
With Tries scored by Tom Watkins 3 Rhys Kedward 1, Leo Herriott 1, James Williams 1, James Lodge 2 and Max Norman 2, and 3 conversions kicked by outside half Leo Herriott the Crusaders continued their current strong run of results this season with a victory winning by 56 points to nil.

Monmouth Crusaders (under 13’s) travelled to Gwernyfed last weekend and after a hard fought game came out on top.
Monmouth took an early lead with a try from Centre Tom Watkins, and this was closely followed with a try from Rhys Carlton. Gwernyfed came back into the match with a converted try, but this was countered just before half time with a touch down from Monmouth winger Rhys Kedward.

Monmouth Crusaders (under 13’s) travelled to Hereford last weekend and totally dominated the match to win 57 points to nil.
Tries were scored by Rhys Carlton 3, Morgan Phillips 2, Max Norman 1, James Lodge 1, Alfie Withers 1, Tom Watkins 1, and Louis MacFarlane scored 6 conversions. It was an excellent display of rugby by the Crusaders.
Coach Chris Webley commended all of the Crusaders players for their team performance and awarded forwards man of the match to back row forward Max Norman, and backs man of the match to Louis MacFarlane.

Monmouth Crusaders (under 13’s) hosted a very strong Talywain side at home last Sunday (22nd Jan) ant Chippeham Fields, and almost overcame their tough valley rivals for the first time in many years. In previous seasons Talywain have easily come out on top of the matches, but last weekend was to be a much closer fought contest.

Monmouth under 13’s (The Crusaders) started the new year in fine form with a superb home win against English rivals Malvern.
The Crusaders touched down with 6 tries during the game, with all of these being scored by back row forward Rhys Carlton. Crusaders outside half Louis MacFarlane duly converted all 6 of Monmouth’s tries with an excellent kicking display.
Malvern battled well throughout the game and score 3 tries of their own, but they were out-played by a very strong team performance from Monmouth Crusaders.
The final score was Monmouth 42 Malvern 15

Monmouth under 13’s travelled to Cheltenham last weekend to take on current county champions Cheltenham Tigers. It was a very cold and frosty morning but Monmouth fronted up well in the conditions.
Cheltenham got off to a flying start with 2 early tries, but Monmouth gradually pulled themselves back into the game, and finished the match the stronger team despite Cheltenham adding 5 further tries.

Monmouth under 13’s travelled to Bristol last weekend, and suffered a narrow defeat losing 19 points to 15 despite a strong performance.
Rhys Carlton scored all of Monmouth’s points with 3 excellent tries, but this was not enough to avoid defeat.
Max Webley had a great game playing out of position at blind-side flanker, and was awarded player of the match for the Monmouth team.
