Results from today are:
Monmouth beat Kidderminster B: 5 - 3
Monmouth beat Brecon: 3 - 2
Monmouth lost to Abergavenney: 6-5
Monmouth lost to Lymm: 4 - 1
Monmouth lost to kidderminster A: 5 - 4
Monmouth lost to Hucclecote: 7 - 6
Very frustrating that we lost three games each by just one try which had a lot to do with inconsistent and poor refereeing!
But on a positive note it was great for the boys to finish the season with a full day of Rugby.

Sunday saw a strong chiefs side travel deep into the forest to play Lydney.
Two excellent games of Rugby enjoyed by both sets of parents ensued. Monmouth played beautifully in attack but unfortunately defensive weakness once again cost them dear. The first match saw tries from Finlay, Charlie (2), Richard and Nicolaj (2). The final score being a debated 7-7 draw.
The second match was a much more high energy affair. Despite excellent scores from Nicolaj (2), Joseph, Finlay and a hat trick from man of the match Charlie, Monmouth were narrowly defeated 8-7.
Game 1 Tries: Finlay, Charlie (2), Richard, Nicolaj (2)
Game 2 Tries: Nicolaj (2), Joseph, Finlay, Charlie (3)

The better weather resulted in a much better turn out today. The Chiefs played three matches against Cinderford U8's. The sun resulted in some excellent running rugby as the boys continue to improve.
In the first match Monmouth were the quicker out of the starting blocks with tries from Nicolaj (2) and Finlay seeing the chiefs 3-1 ahead at half time. Cinderford rallied but second half tries from the last two weeks' man of the match Joseph, Nicolaj (2) and Finlay (1) saw Monmouth win a close fought victory (7-6).

Despite a few fairly fragile parental (and coaches) heads following Wales' triumph on Saturday eight Chiefs made their way to the wilds of Hafodyrynys on Sunday. The weather started warm but by the time of the match had deteriorated to cold showers. Despite this and the absence of some key players the Chiefs came out with all guns blazing and against a well organised Hafodyrynys side put in their most complete performance of the season.
Tries: Richard, Nicolaj (3), Joseph (3)

Sunday dawned bright and sunny and the U8s turned out 10 players to take on Hereford.
The first game was very even, 9 all, and though the U8s had played well they were not quite at their best. With five try scorers (Nic, Ben, Theo, Joseph and Charlie) and some good new tactics that saw James and Griff running straight at Hereford from starts the second game looked promising - if everything came together. A team talk before the second game focussed a few minds.
Tries: Nic, Ben, Theo, Joseph, Charlie, Fynn

Winter had returned with Sunday dawning very cold, very wet and very windy. There was sleet in the air as a very cold squad of 10 U8s tried to warm up. The warm up was obviously not successful as the first game was no where near last weeks high. The cold and wet did not help but the U8s never found their rhythm, there was little passing, little support and virtually no tagging. The first game ended in a 10 : 3 defeat.

As half term took its toll Sunday saw a much reduced Chiefs team travel to Gwernyfed. A powerful and fast running Gwernyfed team beat the Chiefs 11-4 in their first match with Monmouth tries from Nicolaj (2) and Finlay. The chiefs then payed another poor half with Gwernyfed scoring 5 tries without reply.
As the Monmouth U7 had not travelled the chiefs then took on the Gwernyfed U7 side.
They played a more convincing game winning by 7 tries to 3.
